Tony Clamp, Director, Private Sector Facility, Green Climate Fund

Tony is Director of the Green Climate Fund’s Private Sector Facility based in South Korea where he leads its equity and debt investment program in renewable energy, e-mobility, climate finance and private equity funds globally, managing a portfolio of USD2.8 billion and a team of twenty staff.

He has over thirty years experience in private equity, infrastructure investment, sustainability and project finance, impact investing and in managing funds for SME development and has successfully led investments in both developed and developing countries.

Tony spent ten years with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington, DC where he managed a small business enterprise fund, led the development of privatisations in the electricity, transportation and water sectors in Africa, Asia and Latin America and managed an investment portfolio of mining projects globally.

He has held a number of senior positions with private equity fund managers, including CVC Capital Partners and IFM Investors, and was Head of Project Finance at Thames Water where he raised financing for the development of water and wastewater projects in Asia, Europe and North America.


Tony has an MBA from the City University Business School in London and an undergraduate degree in engineering from the University of Birmingham.
