Simon Cheung, Investment Director, Infrastructure & Finance, British International Investment
Simon is an Investment Director in British International Investment’s (BII) Infrastructure & Climate team, focusing on direct equity investments. BII (formerly CDC Group) is the UK’s development finance institution, investing to create more productive, sustainable and inclusive economies in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. Simon has close to 25 years of global infrastructure equity investment experience. Prior to joining BII in 2019, he was a partner at QIC Global Infrastructure and a Senior Vice President at Macquarie Group. He started his career in infrastructure finance with Bankers Trust. Simon is currently a director of Virunga Energies in the DRC and previously served as a director in various QIC and Macquarie portfolio companies in Australia, UK/Europe and Asia. Simon has a MSc in Globalisation & Development from SOAS, University of London, and a MCom in Accounting and Finance from the University of Auckland.
