Alan van der Westhuizen, Head of Partnership Growth – South Africa, IWG

After a number of years abroad working in the hospitality industry, Alan returned to SA to join a friend and founder of Fournews Developments to establish and develop the franchise division of newly formed restaurant group. At Fournews he developed and acquired a number of franchise brands in the QSR space with focus on strategic and operational management of these brands.

After 22 years with Fournews, Alan moved from the Food and Beverage sector to join the global market leader in serviced offices and flexible co-work space, namely IWG. As Franchise Sales Director and Head of Partnership Growth in SA his role to drive the next phase of growth for IWG through franchising and seeking sound franchise partners to grow the Regus and Spaces network in South Africa. He has spent the last few years enabling Franchise partners to invest and grow a business for themselves but not by themselves, with a firm belief that a franchise brand is only as strong as the value that the franchise partners can realise from the relationship.
