Growth Gateway: Boosting UK-Kenya trade & investment in the horticulture value chain

Trade Connect & Growth Gateway are UK Government flagship programmes to enhance trade and investment between the UK and Africa.

The programmes have recently collaborated in the horticulture sector in Kenya, with a focus on:

  • Growing exports from Kenya to the UK, specifically vegetables, mangoes, avocados and value-added products (dried and prepared fruit, avocado oil, nut mixes and butters);

  • Growing exports from the UK to Kenya that can help boost agriculture production in Kenya e.g., goods (cold supply chain solutions), services (ag-data and quality certification) and funding (credit facilitation and export finance).

As an attendee, you will engage with industry experts across the UK and Kenyan government, as well as major private sector players. You will discuss current horticulture export trends, UK market purchasing criteria, barriers to trade in Kenya and what can be done to unlock Kenya’s trade and investments potential in the horticulture value chain.

This will also be a chance to deliberate and work towards potential collaboration.
