Vincent Rouget, Director, Africa, Global Risk Analysis, Control Risks
Vincent Rouget heads Control Risks’ political and business risk analysis team for Sub-Saharan Africa, coordinating a team of country risk specialists based in six offices. Since joining Control Risks in 2014, he has been actively involved in consulting engagements for a range of organisations across the region, with particular experience advising organisations on business integrity matters, investment in high-risk areas and complex problem-solving. Vincent has regional expertise in sub-Saharan Africa developed over ten years, and is a regular media commentator and public speaker on business implications of political and security dynamics on the continent. Vincent has extensive experience advising clients in the mining sector on managing political risk challenges; he is a regular attendee at international mining conferences such as PDAC or Mining Indaba, and regularly publishes analysis on issues relevant to the mining sector. He was previously the lead analyst for Francophone Africa, tracking political and security developments and their implication for commercial activities in over 10 countries.
Prior to joining Control Risks, Vincent worked in Congo (DRC) for Search for Common Ground, a non-profit peacebuilding organisation. In addition to undertaking research on the drivers of violence in the Kivu provinces, he implemented several projects promoting peace and reconciliation among local communities. Vincent also worked in Dakar (Senegal) for the West Africa office of the International Crisis Group, an international conflict-prevention organisation, covering political and security developments in the region, with a particular focus on the Sahel. Vincent holds a first-class Master’s degree in International Security from the Paris School of International Affairs, Sciences Po (France). His dissertation focused on the impact of humanitarian aid on politics and conflict dynamics in eastern Congo (DRC).
