Vincent Rouget, Associate Director, Africa, Control Risks
Vincent Rouget heads Control Risks’ political and business risk analysis team for West Africa. Based in the London office, he is actively involved in consulting engagements for organisations across the region, with a particular focus on security threat analysis, business intelligence, conflict and community issues and complex problem-solving. Vincent is also the lead analyst for Francophone Africa, tracking political and security developments and their implication for commercial activities in over 10 countries.
Prior to joining Control Risks, Vincent worked in Congo (DRC) for Search for Common Ground, a non-profit peacebuilding organisation. In addition to undertaking research on the drivers of violence in the Kivu provinces, he implemented several projects promoting peace and reconciliation among local communities. Vincent also worked in Dakar (Senegal) for the West Africa office of the International Crisis Group, an international conflict-prevention organisation, covering political and security developments in the region, with a particular focus on the Sahel. Vincent holds a first-class Master’s degree in International Security from the Paris School of International Affairs, Sciences Po (France). His dissertation focused on the impact of humanitarian aid on politics and conflict dynamics in eastern Congo (DRC). Vincent has lived in Senegal and Congo (DRC), travelled extensively across the region and is a regular contributor to the media on regional issues. In addition to being fluent in French and English, Vincent has a working knowledge of German and Swahili.
