Tori Abiola, Chief Operations Officer, Invest Africa

Tori has worked in business development in Africa since 1999, when she had responsibility for growing the market share of a London based FTSE listed financial training and services company in the region.  Recently, she was instrumental in the successful global launch of a $100M pan-African Venture Capital fund, as Chief Programme and Business Development Officer, with responsibility for investee and start-up programmes, strategic partnerships, investment ecosystem networks, events and marketing. 

With 25 years’ experience, Tori has delivered over a 150 specialist events, campaigns, training programmes and strategic projects for organisations with significant interest in Africa, globally, including the Africa Rising programme in 2014 at the International Festival of Business, Liverpool, the UK’s most significant international showcase attracting over 250, 000 visitors from 100 countries, including Africa, to facilitate new international trading opportunities.

Her area of expertise include: strategic consulting; marketing & communications; event sponsorship & exhibiting; event production; custom publishing and reports; public relations & affairs; speaker and delegate management; destination marketing and promotions; business development and investment promotion; social media and digital campaigns; thought leadership; training and mentoring. 

Since 2007, Tori has worked to empower and impact over 10,000 women of African origin by organising various events and programmes on entrepreneurship, investment and business leadership.
