Tim Cox, Partner, West Africa, Control Risks
Timothy manages Control Risks’ West Africa business, with operations in ten countries and three offices across the region. He is based in Lagos, Nigeria, and specialises in the delivery of crisis management and incident response support.
Timothy oversees the delivery of solutions and services to clients across the region and has previously held a number of managerial roles in Control Risks, including as Director for the West Africa consulting and operations business and as head of the security business. Before moving to Nigeria in 2013, Timothy was an analyst in London with Control Risks’ Response department, which specialises in responding to kidnaps-for-ransom, piracy and other incidents of extortive crime. Prior to joining Control Risks in 2010, Timothy was a Research Fellow at International Policy Network providing subject matter expertise and media commentary on economic development and trade issues.
Timothy holds degrees from the University of Nottingham (B.A. European Politics) and the School of Oriental and African Studies, London, (MSc African Politics). He speaks regularly at industry events, conferences and association gatherings.
