Robert Grafen-Greaney

Robert Graften-Greaney commenced his career in 2006 in the mining sector, holding various roles from Mine Geologist to Mine Manager at various African mining companies including First Quantum, TanzaniteOne and African Minerals.

Robert joined the insurance industry in 2018 as one of Zurich’s Senior Risk Engineers and ultimately as Specialist Team Leader, responsible for Zurich’s mining & metals engineering practice. In this role he had direct client and industry interaction and was also heavily involved with underwriter risk reviews and recommendations. Robert is also a regular presenter at Mines & Money, FT Mining Summit and South Africa’s annual Mining Indaba.

Robert will commence as Aon’s Head of Mining Broking for the Global Broking Centre in early 2025. His insights and knowledge will be invaluable to us as we grow the resource and capability of the Mining book.
