Patricia Zoundi Yao, Canaan Land Founder
Patricia Zoundi Yao first learned about entrepreneurship from her mother, who worked in the informal sector. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Business Law, she set out to help rural populations gain more access to financial services. With two colleagues and a small amount of capital, she founded Quickcash, a company that makes it easier for rural people and workers in the informal sector to make money transfers. Since then, she has created two other firms: Digital Hub, in the fintech sector, which enables small vendors to accept mobile payments, and Canaan Land, Canaan land is an agri-business company that provide resources to rural women to growth produce and access to the Market. The model of Canaan Land has been elected during the We-Fi summit as the Business that must be support by African Development Bank. In 2019 Patricia has been appointed advocate e-trade for women advocate by United Nation Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) with other 6 women in the world. She has received a number of awards for her business achievements. These include the Chevalier de l’Ordre National et du Merite, and the Prix National excellence de la Presidence de la Republique.
