Matthew Venturas, Head of sub-Saharan Africa, Corporate Intelligence, S-RM

Matt leads S-RM’s Corporate Intelligence work in sub-Saharan Africa out of the firm’s Cape Town office. He advises a range of clients, including development finance institutions, Africa-focused private equity firms, and multinationals, on the market and integrity risks attached to conducting business throughout Africa. Matt focuses primarily on pre-transactional due diligence, leading in-country investigations on state-owned entities and public-private partnerships, supply chain due diligence, identification of illicit trafficking networks, and cross-jurisdictional asset traces and litigation support. He has worked on numerous mining engagements on the continent – identifying issues ranging from human and labour rights violations to the bribery of local officials.
