Ken Osei, Principal Investment Officer, International Finance Corporation (IFC)
Ken Osei is a Principal Investment Officer with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Private Sector arm of the World Bank Group (WBG). Ken is based in IFC’s Johannesburg Office, where he leads a team covering Southern Africa, focusing on investments in the sectors of Manufacturing & Consumer Services (which includes the sub-sectors of Tourism, Hotels, Retail, Commercial Property, Healthcare, Education, Housing and Student Housing). Ken is also Sector Lead for the Health & Education Sectors at the IFC.
Ken and the team are responsible for originating, structuring, closing, and managing portfolio investments in Southern Africa. As Sector lead for H&E, he leads the development of investment strategy, and coordinates business development efforts for the sectors across the African continent.
Ken has been involved in IFC equity, debt, and quasi-equity investments in East, West, and Southern Africa, in sectors including Property, Education, Hotels, Healthcare, Agribusiness, Food & Beverage, FMCG, Building Materials, and the Automotive sectors. Prior to moving to IFC’s Johannesburg office in his current role, Ken was based in Nairobi, Kenya as Equity Specialist, where he was involved in originating, structuring, closing and portfolio management of investments in the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Consumer Services Sectors.
