Ezekiel Macharia, Chief Actuary & Group CEO, Kenbright

Ezekiel Macharia is the Group CEO and Chief Actuary of Kenbright Holdings Limited, overseeing its subsidiaries in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania since 2016. He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and the Actuarial Society of Kenya. Ezekiel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi.

With over 15 years of experience in the East African market, Ezekiel specializes in property & casualty, life, and health insurance. His leadership and expertise have significantly contributed to Kenbright's success, culminating in the firm receiving Africa’s second Quality Assurance Scheme (QAS) accreditation, recognizing the company's commitment to high-quality actuarial work.

Ezekiel has played a vital role in developing actuarial and risk management skills in the region, having served on the Council of the Actuarial Society of Kenya (TASK) for six years and as a founding member of the Actuarial Academy of East Africa (AAEA). He is passionate about health financing and supports numerous private and public insurers as the statutory Appointed Actuary.

Ezekiel is a prominent advocate for unlocking Africa's trade and investment potential, fostering dialogue and collaboration among industry leaders and stakeholders to drive sustainable economic growth across the continent.
