Elijah C. Sichone, Executive Secretary, Regional Electricity Regulators Association of Southern Africa (RERA), Namibia
Elijah C. Sichone is Executive Secretary of the Regional Electricity Regulators Association of Southern Africa (RERA) and has just over 23 years working experience in the energy sector. Prior to joining RERA in 2005, he worked in South Africa for the then National Electricity Regulator (NER) of South Africa and the African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR) as an Executive Secretary. He also worked in senior positions in Zambia’s Energy Regulation Board (ERB) and the Department of Energy (DOE), and on two-year secondment to UNIDO. Elijah C. Sichone holds two Bachelor degrees, a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Degree from the University of Zambia and a Bachelor of Philosophy (BPhil) in Sustainable Development Planning and Management (specialising in renewable and sustainable energy) from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. He also qualified in 2011 as a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), a professional certification programme by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) of America.
