Dr. Mitima Djuma Hamani, Executive Director, Equity Bank

Dr. Mitima Djuma Hamani reached 20 years of career this year with 17 in  international experience. He is an expert in management of Humanitarian and Development Programs.

Worked for various International organizations including Doctors without Borders (Médecins sans Frontières - MSF); ALIMA; Save the Children; International Medical Corps (IMC), ACF; World Health Organization (WHO), Intrahealth and FHI360.

Dr. Mitima has led and managed high-profile international development and humanitarian aid programs for more than 10 years in various and complex field such as Health (HIV, Neglected Tropical diseases, reproductive health, and outbreaks), Nutrition, Protection (GBV) and Education and youth leadership programs in developing countries.

He has strong abilities to work with and build capacity of Ministries of Health (MoH) at national and sub-national levels including local NGOs.

HE also has good experience with several institutions and private donors (EU, USAID, OFDA, DFID, Swiss Cooperation, SIDA, DFID, UN agencies).

He has worked in Burundi, Niger, South Sudan, Sudan ( Darfur) , Nigeria, Burkina, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Chad, Cameroun, Djibouti, Central Africa Republic, Senegal, Mali and  recently in the Gambia where he was the WHO COVID 19 coordinator.

He worked finally back in DRC for FHI 360 where he was Country Director before he joined Equity BCDC as Executive Director. He heads Equity BCDC's social investment arm in the DRC leading 6 pillars:

·      Energy; Environment and Climate change

·      Agriculture and Food

·      Education and leadership

·      Social Protection

·      Enterprise development and Financial Inclusion
