Charles Njenga Murito serves as Google’s Regional Director, Sub Saharan Africa, Government Affairs & Public Policy, after almost six years as the Country Director for Kenya and interim Country Director for South Africa.

For over two decades, Charles has worked with some of the world’s leading technology and media companies to define their business, content, and marketing strategies.

Prior to Google, he held executive positions at Warner Bros. & Turner Broadcasting (now WarnerMedia) where he initiated and led the launch of an Arabic Cartoon Network channel, and conceptualised and launched the Cartoon Network Animation Academy in Abu Dhabi.

He is a non-executive board director at Absa Bank Kenya.

Outside work, Charles loves good food, art, farming, conservation and is passionate about leveraging technology to drive economic development
