Beatrice Nyabira, Partner, Head of Projects, Energy & Restructuring, IKM Advocates (DLA Piper Africa, Kenya)
Beatrice is the head of the Projects, Energy & Restructuring Practice at DLA Piper Africa (Kenya), IKM Advocates. With over 18 years’ experience, she has acted for clients across the entire value chain including public sector entities, commercial lenders and project sponsors in PPPs, energy, infrastructure and public procurement.
She has advised on power projects across different technologies in Kenya, including solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal and biomass. Her contribution saw her receive an award at the Africa Energy Forum, Lisbon, in recognition of her contribution to Africa’s energy sector. Additionally, she is highly ranked by various international ranking organisations around the world, including Chambers Global, IFLR1000 and Legal500, as among the leading energy lawyers in Kenya.
Beatrice is a former member of the PPP Petitions Committee of Kenya and is currently a member of the Electricity Sector Association of Kenya (ESAK). She is a thought leader in the projects and energy space as demonstrated by her periodic contributions to the Business Daily, a widely read Kenyan business newspaper.
