Arun Velusami, Partner & Co-Head of Africa Practice, Hogan Lovells
Arun is a partner in the firm's Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects (IERP) team with experience in advising on energy and infrastructure projects in emerging markets, including in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the CIS region and the Caribbean. He has particular experience in Africa and is Co-head of the firm's Africa Practice.
Described as “sought after for his handling of renewable power mandates”, Arun has advised project developers, development finance institutions, public sector entities and contractors in avariety ofenergy and infrastructure projects. These include renewable energy projects (solar, wind, biomass, geothermal), thermal projects (fuel oil, gas, and coal) and hydropower projects. He also has experience of crossborder power trading arrangements, captive power and embedded generation projects.
Arun also has extensive experience in the mining sector in Africaand has advised on mine development and services agreements, drilling contracts, explosives agreements, fuel supply agreements and power supply agreements across the continent.
Arun is recognised in the leading legal directories for his work in the Energy & Projects markets, notably as a Projects (Foreign Expert) Africa-wide by Chambers Global, 2013-2024.
