Amir Hussain is a Political and Credit Risk Underwriter at Africa Specialty Risks with over 23 years of financial services experience.

Amir began his career at PwC as an auditor, and subsequently held senior analytical and commercial roles at Barclays Bank, Australia New Zealand Bank and EY.  Skilled in financial analysis and experienced in setting up and running credit risk functions, Amir has worked on numerous developing market transactions across various industries. Prior to joining ASR, Amir gained 7 years’ experience in the CPRI market primarily underwriting credit risks with nil losses over that period.

Born in Pakistan, Amir is a Chartered Accountant and holds an LLB from King’s College London and an LLM from the London School of Economics.
