Adaobi Nnorukah, Chief Operating Officer, Genesis Energy

Adaobi Nnorukah is the Chief Operating Officer at Genesis Energy Group. At Genesis, Adaobi is responsible for ensuring that the company can identify and take advantage of the strategic expansion opportunities that best leverage the company’s hard worn experience and competencies in the energy industry.

Adaobi has an accumulation of over sixteen (16) years’ experience in project development and project management. Prior to joining Genesis, she led the department within Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trader (NBET) responsible for the negotiation and administration of the transaction agreements for the purchase and resale of electric energy. She also has experience in formulating, implementing and evaluating policies for unbundling and deregulating electricity networks as well as electricity trading in emerging countries. 

Adaobi is a big believer in the transformative impact of electricity access on the productivity, quality of life and earning of individuals, empowering communities. She is passionate about exploring the application of variety of available technology to bring affordable, sustainable and reliable electricity by structuring transactions to meet the customer’s core needs.

Adaobi holds both a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Sc) and a Masters degrees (MSc)  in Electrical, Power Systems Analysis and Design from Michigan Technological University.
