Regional Outlook Webinar Series - North Africa

As North Africa enters 2025, the region faces a complex mix of challenges and opportunities, with modest growth projected at 2.5%. This forecast is shaped by political instability, ongoing structural reforms, and fluctuating global economic conditions.

In particular, Egypt, Morocco, and Algeria are navigating a challenging economic environment marked by rising inflation and fiscal pressures. However, these countries are also pursuing critical reforms and diversification strategies to strengthen their economies. For Egypt, ongoing macroeconomic adjustments and investment in infrastructure remain pivotal to stabilising its economy, while Morocco is focusing on expanding its renewable energy sector and improving industrial output. Algeria’s efforts to modernise its energy sector and encourage foreign investment are expected to help sustain growth.

In this session, speakers will explore key trends shaping the North African economy in 2025, including the impact of structural reforms, investment opportunities in renewable energy and technology, and the role of geopolitical stability in supporting economic growth. Special attention will be given to how countries like Egypt and Algeria are leveraging their energy resources for long-term economic diversification, as well as how the region can capitalise on its strategic position to boost trade and attract foreign investment.
