Commitments made in 2023 built on over a decade of deepening trade and investment ties, with the UAE emerging as the fourth-largest investor in Africa, with investment reaching nearly $60 billion over the decade running from 2012-22 and focusing mostly on infrastructure, energy, transport, and logistics.
