  • Dubai Dubai, Dubai United Arab Emirates (map)

2023 was a big year for UAE-Africa commercial ties, highlighted perhaps most notably by Abu Dhabi’s promise to pour $4.5 billion into clean energy projects across the continent at the inaugural Africa Climate Summit. Commitments made in 2023 built on over a decade of deepening trade and investment ties, with the UAE emerging as the fourth-largest investor in Africa, with investment reaching nearly $60 billion over the decade running from 2012-22 and focusing mostly on infrastructure, energy, transport, and logistics. But what’s in store for 2024? In this session, speakers will forecast UAE-Africa investment trends in 2024 and beyond, highlighting market opportunities and risks across the continent.
