Africa's Industrial Revolution: Exploring Opportunities in the Manufacturing Sector in Africa

  • London The Lounge - 12 Hay Hill London, England United Kingdom (map)

The African continent is experiencing an upsurge in industrial activity across various sectors like processed food and automobile manufacturing. Projections suggest that a number of African industries could potentially double their production output to nearly $1 trillion within the next decade. The primary driver behind this growth is anticipated to be the manufacturing sector, which aims to reduce reliance on imports and cater to the increasing local demand.

Importantly, there's a significant opportunity for Africa to become a major player in global manufacturing exports. As industries worldwide seek alternatives to China and other manufacturing hubs due to rising costs, Africa presents itself as a promising destination with lower production costs, coupled with improved infrastructure and growing youth and educated workforce.

In partnership with ARISE IIP, we are hosting a breakfast roundtable to explore Africa's opportunity to become a major player in global manufacturing exports.

Sectors of interest: Timber processing, FMCG, agribusiness / agro-processing, sustainable packaging, waste recycling, green energy manufacturing, ethanol manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, light engineering, automotive manufacturing & semi-conductor manufacturing.
