African Central Bank Governors Roundtable

  • Washington, D.C. United States (map)

In partnership with Bretton Woods Committee, we are hosting an exclusive roundtable discussion, held on the sidelines of the 2024 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. This private session will take place on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, at 08:00 in downtown Washington, D.C., and will focus on advancing the harmonisation of payment systems in West and Central Africa.

As Africa moves towards deeper economic integration, improving cross-border payment systems is crucial to unlocking trade and investment opportunities. This roundtable will convene high-level representatives from the Central Bank of West African States, the Bank of Central African States, regional banks, payment service providers, policymakers, and investors for an in-depth and interactive discussion on developing a unified regional payment and settlement system across the CEMAC and WAEMU regions.
