Yolanda Mobuto appointed Genesis Energy South Africa MD Project Development

Johannesburg, South Africa, 20 May 2022 – South Africa is the latest sub-Saharan Africa country that Genesis Energy has identified as an investment destination to set operations to enable the company enlarge its footprint across the continent and continue on its vision of lighting up Africa one community at a time. GENESIS is pleased to announce the appointment Yolanda Mabuto as Managing Director Project Development with effect from 3 May 2022. Mabuto fits the calibre that the company continues to hire and retain, individuals to highest of professional ethos and who are passionate about accelerating the company’s vision to all communities – be it a group of industries or commercial businesses, a collection of residential customers or countries – as they all form a community in different aspects.

Mabuto is an experienced global leader with qualifications from UCT Graduate School of Business and is passionate about impacting the energy industry positively with dedication and integrity. Before joining Genesis Energy, Mabuto was a Project Director – Divaine Growth Solutions, a company she founded. She previously worked for South Africa’s national power utility, Eskom for almost a decade within the Asset Creation and Project Development Portfolios.

She has won multiple awards in the energy space for her active involvement in gender equality, some of the awards include Association of Municipal Electricity Utility (Women in Electricity) – Excellence Award, Women In STEM, Women Advancement and recently an international award for Women In Energy. She has also managed projects for United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s (UNIDO) Economic Empowerment of Women in Green Industries). She also served as a board member for the World Business Angel Investment Forum on the Global Start Up Portfolio representing Africa, with the vision to encourage financial and digital inclusion of SME’s.
